With the advent of the Internet of Everything (IoE), low-power communication becomes more and more important. We want to reduce the environmental impact of hardware as much as possible by eliminating battery replacements, preferably relying on energy-harvesting techniques for providing electrical current. in this context, we would like to develop wireless sensing and communication techniques where the remote unit is fully passive and hence able to transmit information without explicit power supply. This approach enables the full integration of hardware into objects, furniture, floors and other items in the living environment.
