Project description

Firstly, differences in muscle morphometry and function between control and chronic neck pain patients will be evaluated by use of fMRI. Secondly, the influence of work place organisation and VDU on posture and muscle recruitment will be investigated. In the third place, questionnaires regarding psychosocial variables will be administered in order to identify risk factors in neck pain. Understanding of the pathophysiology of chronic neck pain is crucial in the development of prevention strategies and to set up evidence-based interventions for chronic neck pain patients.
