Project description

A new generation of electrical machines (EMs) and additive manufacturing (AM) is just around the corner. The successful integration of AM for building magnetic components of EM is the goal of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions project EMByAM project. Specifically, the project will explore multi-material (soft magnetic and non-magnetic material) rotors, 3D-structured AM conductors, multi-material (soft magnetic and permanent magnet material) and the multi-physical study of additive manufactured EMs. Its overall goal is to use AM to solve the current technological obstacles faced by electrical machines to accelerate the development of electrical drives in areas such as the automotive industry and aviation, with a direct impact on CO2 reduction.
