Project description

At Ghent University, we are currently working with an interdisciplinary team to develop an AI model designed to support the chambers for companies in difficulty within the commercial courts. This AI model aims to enhance the efficiency and objectivity of the process for selecting financially distressed companies.

The proposed research specifically focuses on the legal implications and requirements associated with the use of AI in this context. This includes ensuring compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the AI Regulation, and other relevant legal frameworks. By conducting an in-depth analysis of these legal dimensions, we aim to ensure that the AI model is not only technologically robust but also legally compliant and ethically sound.

Through this research, we seek to provide an innovative and legally solid contribution to the modernization of the judiciary and to improve the support for financially distressed companies.
