Project description
Greenland's glacial fjords are vital for regional fisheries and global carbon sequestration. Global warming accelerates glacier retreat, transforming fjord ecosystems. Marine-terminating glaciers drive CO2 uptake and sustain food-webs by enhancing phytoplankton production through nutrient supply. As these glaciers disappear, understanding their role in carbon dynamics is essential for predicting climate impacts and the resilience of these key marine ecosystems.
