Research questions: (i) What is the molecular regulation of hemichannels as compared to gap junction channels ? (ii) How can we influence hemichannels without affecting gap junctions ? (iii) What is the role of gap junctions and hemichannels in cell death ? (iv) What is the in vivo role and function of hemichannels and how can we modulate their activity ?
