During the STI the participants will be familiarised with all the available techniques for waste treatment and will be given detailed information about some particular techniques, whether or not combined with energy production, or which allow recycling of parts of the waste. Attention will also be paid to he inappropriate storage of obsolete pesticides and to the transboundary movement of hazardous waste. Special attention will also go to communication methodologies and best practices for efficient communication with policymakers and government officials.
