Project description

Through interviews with general practitioners (GPs) and patients with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS); focusgroups of GPs; and videotapes of actual consultations, we will test the idea that when CFS patients present with vague illness/autobiographical narratives, the therapeutic relationship with their GP will be more difficult. Data will be analyzed qualitatively with thematic analysis, conversation analysis, and discourse analysis.
