Lactarius volemus has a very wide distribution according to the literature. Within this 'species' we observe a large morphological variability. Preliminary molecular results indicate the exsistence of well supported clades within the 'species'. With this project we want to investigate the cryptic species within the L. volemus-group and understand its phylogeography.
