Project description
The research study targets to develop a general framework for the evaluation of the economic performance and efficiency of community-based management of irrigation water. Value of agricultural water, farmers' willingness and ability to pay water fees, impacts of land and water rights on water fees and cost recovery will be analyzed. Tools will be proposed to decision-makers and schemes managers to adapt workable water pricing systems that are likely to lead to sustainable schemes management in the context of devolution process.
