The quasi-species evolution of influenza A viruses in naive and immune hosts will be compared by NGS sequencing. The obtained escape mutants will be characterized in terms of fitness, competitive advantage and stability. This analysis should provide a detailed insight in the dynamic nature of influenza A virus quasi-species diversity influenced by diverent immune selection pressures.
