Project description
The European NATMAN project inventoried fungi on large deadwood in unmanaged beech forests in 2001. This PhD research evaluates the succession of fungal communities on the same logs, combined with new inventories (in Belgium, Slovenia, and Denmark) and long-read metabarcoding, with a focus on ectomycorrhiza in late decay stages. The goal is to improve monitoring and forest management.
