Project description
The objective of this project is to develop new methods for studying the non-equilibrium dynamics of both isolated and open quantum field theories using variational methods based on the concept of continuous matrix product states. These have proven to provide an accurate description of groundstates of such systems, but have so far not been used in studies of the dynamics.
