Project description
The project analyses the materiality of administrative and legal papyri from Roman and Byzantine Egypt. Format, size, layout and quality of the support are studied from a technological and semiotic prospective, as important tools of communication in a context where the standardization of the message is a key factor for an effective transmission, and the general level of literacy is gradually increasing.
