The objective of this project is an innovative design of a closed photobioreactor, focused on the production of biomass on a large scale at very low cost. In particular, the use of the photo bioreactor for the cultivation of micro-algae will allow the generation of specific biomass with a yield per hectare which is 10 to 30 times higher than the production through agricultural crops, and having specific properties, to aim at a high content of oils and fatty acids and / or other specific chemicals.
