Cycling (both professional and amateur) needs technology to i) make its races safer and ii) communicate faster and more efficiently with and about its riders. The SPORSA sensor and associated intelligent dashboard provide an answer to these problems, and monitor the dynamics in the peloton during the race. Consequently, the aim of this IOF project is to: i) further consult the stakeholders committed to the project about their exact needs, ii) translate these insights into functional and technological requirements for the platform, iii) subsequently develop a prototype of the system, iv) conduct research in the field of data analysis and communication necessary to achieve the required accuracy and coverage, iv) test this in official U23 competitions in Flanders. Furthermore, we want to start the necessary preparations for spin-off incorporation and officialize the (already made) commitments by external partners in terms of practical implementation and willingness-to-pay for our technology.
