Project description
 

Folates provide methylgroups to methyltransferases, which, in turn, enables them to methylate DNA (and other molecules). The role of folates in DNA methylation in Arabidopsis thaliana will be further investigated by studying folate biosynthesis mutants (dhfr) and folate biofortified plants. Furthermore, the nuclear fraction of the folate pool will be determined in the aforementioned lines.
