In this project chip scale optical parametric oscillators are envisioned. The challenge is the devel;opment of OPO’s with a low threshold. Due to the fact that the crossection of silicon waveguides is very small high intensities can be obtained in these silicon waveguides. Nonlinear interactions become possible at low powers in these waveguides. The OPO’s will be fabricated in such silicon photonic waveguides
