Project description

An InP-based DFB laser diode will be overgrown with suitable polymer material with the aim of obtaining a thermally tunable laser diode with significantly better characteristics than the current thermally tunable laser diodes. The laser diode will be designed such that also an acceptable dynamic behaviour is obtained, allowing direct analog and digital modulation of the component. This will make the component suitable for use in optical access networks.
