This project aims at analysing the properties and evolution of mitochondrial encoded resistance traits in arthropods. This project offers a rare opportunity to an in depth study of non-Mendelian inheritance under controlled laboratory circumstances in arthropods. The final goal is a thorough evaluation of the resistance risks of QoI inhibitors in a broader context than crop protection and the exploration of processes regulating the evolution of non-neutral mitochondrial mutations.
