The CleanAirBouw project will address a challenge of the 3rd industrial revolution concerning "sustainable" building. Its aim is to develop new, effective systems for treating indoor air in buildings and to provide scientific support to help establish standards in France and Belgium. The project will also develop innovative treatment prototypes for pollutants produced by the combustion of biomass (wood). As air pollution, indoor air pollution in particular, is a key area for progress in health /environment, the project will enable cross-border residents to live in healthier buildings that comply with WHO Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) standards.
Occupants will be informed and made aware of the dangers of this pollution. Keys will be provided to enable them to deal with indoor air pollution, particularly in terms of choosing the most appropriate technique. Particular attention will be paid to raising awareness among students (masters and doctoral students), local authorities through schools and building professionals through training courses.
