Project description
Photovoltaic installations, electric vehicles, energy storage and heat pumps, combined "Stochastic Distribution Grid Exchanges" (SDGEs), can lead to additional stress on the distribution grid due to their fundamentally different behaviour compared to traditional domestic and industrial consumers. However, such installations can also provide the necessary flexibility to avoid or at least minimise the additional stress on the low-voltage grid due to increased electricity demand. From this perspective, the IMPROCAP project is developing an intelligent system that is a prototype for a generic Smart Grid management system, based on control of SDGEs and flexible end-users.
