Project description

The project aims in elucidating the halochromic behaviour of azo dyes applied on fabric materials, forming a new class of textile sensors. Experimental optical and vibrational spectra will be measured to characterize the properties of azo dyes immobilized onto textile fibres. These spectra will be cross-validated with theoretical data based on advanced computational methods, investigating the chemical properties of the compounds in various complex molecular environments.
