Digital PCR (dPCR) is a highly sensitive and precise nucleic acid quantification method with applications beyond biomedical research. It offers tools for diverse fields within bioscience engineering such as food toxicology, pathogen detection in agriculture and aquaculture, plant biotechnology, and beyond. Hence, the Faculty of Bioscience Engineering supports the cross-faculty DIGPCR core facility, centralizing expertise and infrastructure related to this emerging method. Here, we request funding to replace and upgrade the existing QX200 dPCR at DIGPCR, which is end of life. A new QX600 reader will restore full functionality while also upgrading it. The platform will be moved to the Faculty of Bioscience Engineering, to better serve researchers using or planning to use dPCR. The updated platform will now support 6-color multiplex dPCR, expanding applications. It will be integrated within DIGPCR to ensure broad access, future maintenance, and support of the system.
