Project description

This phD research project is focused on the reduction of H2S emissions from anaerobic bioreactors with granular biomass, by applying microaerobic conditions. The applied methodology comprises short-term and long-term lab-scale experiments, complemented with mathematical modeling and numerical simulations. The main objectives are to gain more insight in the mechanisms of sulfide oxidation during microaeration and to design an adequate control strategy.
