Project description
Sand is the world’s second most consumed resource after water and is increasingly becoming scarce. This research is looking at formal and informal forms of governance and livelihood practices of sand mining in the Nepal-India transboundary rivers. These rivers have been particularly affected by sand extraction and it is already highly vulnerable to the effects of climate change.
