With this BOF scholarship, I aim for a theoretical contribution and a societal impact by conducting research on service design and governance.

My main project will focus on service ecosystem transformation. I want to investigate (1) the challenges in designing more sustainable initiatives and, at a later stage, (2) the governance of these initiatives within the service ecosystem. Using a qualitative research approach, data will be collected in the transport and healthcare service industry. The scholarship will be mainly used to fund a junior PhD student on this project.

Additionally, I would like to enlarge my research and business network by going to conferences and presenting my work to non-academic audiences. Consequently, I hope to set up an interdisciplinary research team to apply for additional funding at a Flemish (e.g., Baekeland mandate) and/or European level (e.g., Horizon Europe project). A small part of the budget will be used for these network purposes.
