Project description

The convergence of IT and automation networks, in particular the implementation of Ethernet-based networks in the production halls, offers opportunities to gain easy access to the entire production. One can log into problems remotely to diagnose and make adjustments to the equipment. At the same time this increases the chance of threats (hackers) and infections (worms, viruses). Recent studies show that industrial control systems are increasingly being targeted for such attacks. Industrial security or security should be a major focus in the design of an automation network, but lack business knowledge to perform this process thoroughly. The Project aims to address industrial security issues at source and to ensure good '' in the field '' applications will follow.
