The landscape of mental health (MH) in Flanders is rapidly evolving, with a focus on innovation through the consolidation of resources and efforts of organizations with support, coordination, and ombuds functions. This report examines this innovative movement from an ecosystem perspective, emphasizing the collaboration between various organizations that depend on each other's activities to achieve innovation. The Flemish government aims to integrate organizations with coordination and ombuds functions (innovation ecosystem 1) and those supporting healthcare providers, users, and citizens (innovation ecosystem 2). The research aims to provide insights into managing these innovation ecosystems, focusing on management strategies that contribute to innovation and how these strategies evolve throughout the process. The innovation ecosystems are described based on actors, relationships, and governance. A process analysis shows that different management strategies are employed and that both the government and external process facilitators impact the innovation process.
