This research project will specifically focus on Vinaya texts (disciplinary texts) and commentaries found in Dunhuang manuscripts, including the four major Vinayas, and other ritualistic texts. These texts are not preserved in the Central Plains Region of China. The project will reveal variations in
Vinaya scriptures and thoughts over time exploring the state of Buddhist Vinaya Studies in Dunhuang.
