In this project a spatio-temporal stochastic simulation model will be developed by means of which it will be possible to simulate the spread of High Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI), in Belgium. Subsequently, with this model the epidemiological impact of several suppression strategies, among them several forms of emergency and preventive vaccination, will be evaluated. Simultaneously, two economical models will be developed by means of which it will be possible to evaluate the economic impact of several suppression strategies, with respect to the company level and the sector level (complete production chain). By means of these different models it will be possible both to weight the epidemiological and economical efficiency of several suppression scenario's.
