Project description

This work forms part of the postdoctoral research of T. Debacker, and comprises the detailed analysis of a low-angle normal fault. Although currently the common presence of low-angle normal faults has become widely accepted, their formation mechanism has yet to be explained. A detailed analysis of a large-scale low-angle normal fault, present in the well-documented Lower Palaeozoic of Belgium, should lead to a better understanding of the formation mechanism of low-angle normal faults.
