Project description

This project aims to reconstruct the legal system of the ancient city of Susa (Western Iran) during the Old-Babylonian period. This will be done through the study of about 300 cuneiform texts, mainly sales, rents, loans, divisions of property and litigations. Ulimately the conclusions can be compared to the neighbouring legal system of Mesopotamia.
