social media cannabis drug policy
Project description

While the popularity of social media has exploded, there has been little inquiry into how issues of ‘framing’ and ‘agenda setting’ apply under these new circumstances. Using a qualitative discourse analysis of Twitter data and in-depth interviews with Belgian drug policymakers, this project aims to examine how and by whom cannabis and prescription drugs are framed on Twitter and how this may galvanise policymakers to pay attention to this particular issue.
