Project description

Tsunamis are not always caused by earthquakes, but can also be generated by mass-wasting events.
This project postulates that the Gollum Channel System, offshore Ireland, is a potential source of
tsunami risk, based on the earlier occurrence of some large-scale slope failures. To assess this risk,
the evolution of this system will be investigated using the most recent state-of-the-art technologies.
