In this project we focus on luminescent materials: these emit light, which is not caused by heat and are used in light emitting diodes, displays,... They will be studied with advanced experimental techniques using powerful x-ray sources (EXAFS, XANES). The aim is to improve our understanding of a number of phenomena in these compounds such as: thermal quenching, anomalous emission, persistent luminescence,…
