In this project, a framework of models that simulate the different stages of auditory perception of environmental sound is built. The approach uses computational intelligence techniques to bridge the gap between low-level acoustical features and high-level concepts, such as meaning and evoked emotions, described through words. This research will benefit the development of technology that requires analyzing ambient sound.
