Project description
This project investigates the hypothesis that depression in epilepsy is based on dysfunction in the network for emotion control. During emotion control tasks, (invasive) electro-encephalography will be used to measure task-related neural activity in depressed vs. non-depressed patients with epilepsy. This project further analyzes the effects of vagus nerve stimulation, a treatment that is effective for both epilepsy and depression.
