Project description
In this study, in a series of field and laboratory experiments, we investigate the role of microbes in the reaction of the seaweed Ulva to climate change. By using axenic hosts (sterile seaweed lacking microbes) and the holobiont (seaweeds plus their microbes), we attempt to establish causal relations, as well as testing if the same mechanisms apply to natural systems.
