Our team previously showed in a mousemodel of spondyloarthritis, that biomechanical stress may be a critical factor in onset of disease, partly explaining the peculiar localization of this systemic disease. This proposal will explore the underlying mechanisms by which mechanical strain leads to joint inflammation, using both valuable patient samples and validated mouse-models.
