In 2003, the PaInT lab at UGent came up with an innovative design and concept for an autonomous drinking water production unit powered by solar heat. A first prototype of the concept has already been built, which together with the lab tests have provided the proof-of-principle. Nevertheless, the current prototype still needs to be thoroughly optimized. This StarTT proposal therefore has 3 objectives. (1) Developing an optimized prototype. (2) Market study of the identified markets. (3) Development of the exploitation strategy.
