Project description
Ethylene (ethene) plays a major role in vegetative development and stress responses in plants. Current research is focused on cell type specificity of ethylene signaling, transport of the precursor ACC, and the effect of ACC derivatives and other small molecules on the pathway. Accurate measurement of minute amounts of ethylene emanating from plants is essential, and obtained with laser-based photoacoustics.
