Project description
In the current COVID-19 crisis, the demand for remote interpreting in asylum reception networks has become very urgent. To respond to this demand, this action research project analyzes the institutional and organizational challenges of remote interpreting, and more specifically webcam interpreting, in the reception network. Based on a thorough context analysis, a pilot project will be implemented in a selection of Fedasil reception centres, with a view to developing and testing an innovative method for webcam interpreting in these facilities. The implementation of this pilot project will be accompanied by the development of an (online) training module and script for webcam interpreting for service providers in the reception network.
