Project description

IL-17A-producing T helper (Th17) cells, which contribute to Multiple Sclerosis (MS), are educated by an immunological gut-brain axis, in which we suspect a role for intestinal epithelial TRAF6 signalling. Therefore, we will investigate the role of intestinal TRAF6 signalling in a mouse model of MS. Understanding such gut-derived immune effects on the brain might aid in designing novel MS therapies.
