The project will develop methods to include electrocatalysis as an integral part of complex molecular construction strategies. Catalysts will be designed to operate at given potentials to enable their use in conjunction with other organic or organometallic functionalization methods. Detailed studies will be carried out on individual reactions to then combine these in follow-up reactions and functionalization steps. The goal is to integrate electrocatalysis in one-pot multi-reaction sequences and allow for molecular functionalization and complexity building in one-pot using multi functionalization sequences. The aim is to use electrocatalysis in conjunction with organometallic homogeneous catalysis to build complex molecules in unprecedented sustainable processes.
