Project description
One of the key functions of photonic integrated circuits is wavelength filtering, which is useful for  optical communication and sensing. As photonic circuits become more configurable ("programmable") the configuration of arbitrary filters becomes more flexible, but also more difficult. In this work, algorithms for synthesizing and configuring wavelength filters are built and tested on programmable photonic circuits.
