Epidemiology of Acute Kidney Injury (AKI) in critically ill patients admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) (AKI-EPI 2)
Aim: Epidemiology and outcomes of AKI in IUC patients
Method: international multicenter cohort study; 10,642 patients
Endpoints:
Primary: Occurence of AKI and max severity stage withijn first 7 d of ICU admission
Secondary:
- AKI in patients with and without known baseline creatinine value
- duration of AKI
- Rapid reversal (<48 h) and persistent AKI (>= 48h)
- Acute Kidney Disease
- Use of renal Replacement therapy (RRT)
- Duration of ICU admission, post ICU admission and hosqpital admission
- AKI defined by urine or serum creatinine criteria only
- Creatinine, RRT, mortality, quality of life (EQ5D-5L) at day 90 and 1 y
- Major adverse Kidney Events (MAKE), composite of death, RRT and kidney function at day 90 and 1 y
