Project description

The objectives of this project are to strengthen the joint expertise of the IDLab-EM group at Ghent University-imec and Jadavpur University Jadavpur, Kolkata in the field of wearable antennas, with the aim of starting long-term collaboration and applying for competitive research projects (ESA, EC, …) by

A. developing a wearable antenna system for an Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon (EPIRB) and a homing Beacon.

B. designing and optimizing the active antenna system with a low-noise and/or power amplifier.

C. integrating the active wearable antenna system especially in a life vest worn during a Maritime search and Rescue mission

D. adding energy harvesting and Global navigation satellite system functionality to the antenna.
