Project description

Bioethanol is an alternative biofuel that can substitute for the diminishing fossil fuel stocks. This PhD project focuses on the development of yeast cell populations equipped with highly diverse multi-enzyme complexes, called designer cellulosomes. With the aid of these designer cellulosomes, the yeast cell populations will be able to efficiently convert lignocellulose-rich plant
material and waste streams into bioethanol.
