Ethiopia equine herpesvirus 1 (EHV1) molecular epidemiology

Project description

Equine herpesvirus 1 (EHV1) causes severe diseases in equines worelwide. Hovever, in Ethiopia there is no EHV1 vaccination program. A better understanding of the molecular epidemiology and diversity of EHV1 will provide insights for the design of appropriate control strategies. As a result, the impact of EHV1 on equine losses and subsequently on the poverty of farmers in Ethipoia will be reduced.
